I thought this novel was really good. I know many other people in our grade enjoyed it and some even read ahead because they got hooked into the storyline. It is definitely my favorite Mark Twain novel. It kept me on my toes throughout the entire story. I can see why it is considered a classic in the literature world. The novel has covered its themes very well. It was pretty clear to find the themes and examples that supported them. This book has definitely been better than other books I have read in the past. Although, the language in the book was a little hard to read it was still better than other books as it has the language of the region making it more immersive. Other books do not make the dialogue similar to the region where it takes place and you do not get the feeling like you are there unlike in Huck Finn. I wish other novel writers would do this in there books to make them more immersive. If they did I would probably end up reading more books than I do now (which isn’t a lot). What Tom Sawyer (the real one) did in the last few chapters was pretty dumb. Instead of trying to free Jim he was just making a game of it when he was already free. Also, Tom was a jerk holding the information he had to himself. I wish that was not in the book. The most important thing for modern readers to take from this book is that you can’t always trust people you meet and that you can accomplish almost anything if you set your mind to it. I think this story still relates to today because this world is full of people trying to scam you and take your belongings. And sometimes you can’t trust people you thought you could. Overall I would give this a book a nine out of ten. The end could definitely be fixed a bit.
