This infographic assignment has been quite difficult. At least in the aspect of finding statistics on my initial concept. The topic I came up with is how many people feel left out due to their lifestyle choices. More specifically, alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. The designing was the most fun part I think. An infographic makes it easier to learn things and helps you remember it by being visually stimulating. Therefore an effective way of getting information out to the public. The creation of my infographic was not too difficult as I had found a website that had plenty of free to use layouts. All I had to do was type in the words and insert the numbers into charts and graphs. So to sum this process out, all I had trouble with was getting the necessary information for it. I want people to view my infographic and see how many people feel outcasted by society. Hopefully, instead of people shaming the people they could try to help them either stop or feel included in some way. Since I take classes at BU, most snow days are still school days for me but, this storm occurred on spring break so they seemed like real snow days. On average snow days I end up getting up at the same time I do for school. Probably an internal clock sort of thing. Then I get around for the day and get stuck doing chores. Except, this week (or should I say extended weekend) was different. This past week I was able to sleep in (somewhat). On the day of the actual storm I had to go out every two hours to shovel off our sidewalk and move my car so our neighbor could plow. Unlike most people, I enjoy driving in bad weather. I was not allowed to drive on tuesday because nobody was supposed to. On Wednesday I had to go uptown to pick up dinner for my mom and I got to go through all the back streets because Market Street was blocked by a semi stuck in the snow. Thursday was just as fun just driving around looking at all the snow that got piled up everywhere. On friday I had to go to my grandmothers house to shovel some snow as her road just got plowed on thursday evening. So the snow break was a nice break from school.
