Poetry

49158052Poetry can be enjoyable, or it can a just be a very long and horrible process. But for most of the time for me, poetry has been a enjoyable thing. Some of the poems I have read, have really deep meanings behind them. But, some other poems that I have read, have more of a light hearted mood to it, for it to be more enjoyable to read for me. One of the best that i have read though so far is one that I have read just recently though. It is called “Invictus” by William Ernest Henley. It is more on the deeper meaning side of things, but it is a great one to read in my opinion. My expectations for how we look at poetry this year is, to make everybody like poetry more. I want this to happen because some people say, “Well, I personally hate poetry.”. The only reason they supposedly hate poetry is that they haven’t found what kind of poetry they enjoy yet. Or another reason can be that they do not get the inner meaning to some of the poems that they have read. Another expectation for how we look at poetry this year is that everybody can find a specific style of poetry, and poem that they like. The only reason I say that is because everybody has there own opinion about everything, but if some people can find a common ground when it comes to poetry, we all can enjoy poetry much more equally. With that being said you now know my past experience with poetry. A poem that I enjoy reading every time, and my expectations for how we look at poetry this year in our class.

First Week of School

SpangebewbMy first week of school was fairly decent to say the least. First of all, it is always a plus when you teachers are friendly, and with the teachers I have this year, they all seem pretty friendly. My schedule is a positive thing, unlike last year, I got all the classes I wanted. The only thing that seemed bad about the week is football practice after school. Immediately after we got right out of school, we had to be either at the field house or the weight room. So if you forgot something in the school you were done. After that we would practice until 6:30, and for me personally waking up the next morning wasn’t the greatest thing ever. One thing that really surprised me was how relaxed the teachers are this year than last year. They tell you how it is, and if you do not agree with them so be it. Also the teachers didn’t cram our heads, or book bags with information in the first week. Which is a blessing coming from a student’s stand point. Overall, my first week of school was a good one. With the teachers being friendly, and with them not cramming information in on the first week. And the only downside being that when you pay a sport of any kind during the school year, especially during the first week. It is going to be hard every morning waking up whether it’s you are sore from practice, or you didn’t get enough sleep the night before.
